– A New Exhibition by Franziska Barczyk explores movement, sisterhood, and the digital age
Franziska presents "Which One Are You?", an exhibition exploring chance, sisterhood, and the balance between private and public life. Opening March 6th, 2025, at ISZA Gallery, this collection of paintings examines personal and societal perceptions of identity through bold colors and dynamic compositions. Rooted in Franziska’s life as a twin, the series addresses individualism versus assimilation, especially in the immigrant experience, and how the digital age influences personal personas.
Franziska states, “In this work, I explore how memory, interconnection, and relationships are shaped by external forces. Being a twin involves constant comparison, reflecting broader societal structures—particularly where digital spaces blur authenticity and performance.”
Through her abstract figurative style, Franziska illustrates the interplay between connection and individuality, encouraging audiences to consider their relationships with perception, resilience, and self-representation.

Nocefresca - Short Stay Artist Residency - Sardegna
I spent May 2024 in Sardegna in a village called Milis. The quiet life gave me introspection and provided me with insights of nature, colours, relationship to my work and the reoccurring confirmation of the importance of my sketchbook. I loved having many conversations with international artists about life, choices, chance and the future.
